It only happens rarely to me. Once a month, or less.
I have no idea if that has anything to do with me using a PC and not a phone.
I know nothing about phones.

Like Wilhelm said, only occasionally, but yesterday was the occasion. Had to login again each time, and it's probably been at least a month since I've had to login. I don't know why yesterday was the day.

It happens to me occasionally. I'm not sure what you mean by "memory bases sessions". Whatever phpbb uses by default...if there's a way to fix this, let me know.

Maybe some stuff worth trying here (not reinstalling from scratch). We did not use a 1-click install, I don't think. It's been a while.

so, session management for auth between user/browser and web app can be in memory: i.e. you close the browser, you lose your session,
persistent - you close the browser, session is written to disk, you open browser you still have your session
also
session can be
xx - time to idle if you idle for 30 minutes or whatever is set, session wipes
xx -time to idle and a hard time out.. i.e. you move mouse every 29 minutes and you get more time, until you hit a hard upper limit. say 8 hours or 12, or 30 days etc

Not sure if relevant, but this never happens to me on my desktop browsers. On my phone, I need to re-login about once every couple of days.

@Idlehands are you using a mobile version of safari or chrome with private/incognito sessions? I do this, and I seem to get wiped out often, especially if hopping across networks.

Mobile chrome and chrome on two Mac laptops.
Seems to be rapid that it wipes on laptops.
Tested safari and that also wiped but took longer
Not incognito.
I wonder if work laptop chrome for business has some setting that wipes it across my google

I'm guessing that cookies get purged and the settings demand a lot of things be constantly pulled off the server as opposed to using a cached image.

I thought this was going to be about someone dying of cancer. I guess the cookies thing is dramatic too.
