Not to mention they called 4 passing plays in a row earlier in the game from basically the same place (and gave up a field goal to do it). I was assuming they would score and would've loved to see some OT. Too bad. At least try running it ONCELexAnderson wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 11:40 am So ole A-aron pulling a Russell Wilson from the Super Bowl and throwing the ball on the 2 with the game on the line and getting intercepted. When will these guys learn to not get cute? Put an offensive lineman as a fullback and just do a dive.

Re: 2019-2020 NFL Thread
I have no idea why TheFlower was still running play action late in the game. Down their best receiver, a tackle, and their ground and pound back, with Rodgers as the leading rusher by a mile, even dirty manchild Jim Schwartz's turnstile D could make a stop on that. No one was biting, and Rodgers was running for his life. Either hand it off or keep the back in to block.
The real questions: will the NFL ever actually care about player safety? Will the NFL ever decide what pass interference is?

The Jets are an abomination.
17-0 at the end of the 1st. I’m going to bed. Hope those bums don’t get loser-stink on my team.

They just fined Odell Beckham for not wearing shorts with the little knee pad thingy to protect his knee. Player safety #1.murphyreedus wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 6:31 pmThe real questions: will the NFL ever actually care about player safety?

Cowboys got Bennett for a 6th rounder. I like the move. Low risk high reward. Cowboys Quinn and Lawrence are both in the top 5 at DE for facing double teams. Put Bennett in the middle with Collins on passing downs and dare teams to double both Quinn and Lawrence.
To speak positively of the NFL...I DO like the recent years trend of teams making trades before the trade deadline.

There's no defending Myles Garrett's actions. That behavior should be enough for a long term ban and/or actual charges.
At the same time, Mason Rudolph is not an innocent party here, and he's definitely a moron for going after Garrett physically after his linemen stepped in. A QB needs to be smarter than that. The big uglies are protecting you for a reason.

Rudolph also looked bad. Aside from being dumb, going after the guy while you’re under your lineman’s arm is a bad look. It’s like that little cartoon dog that stands behind the big dog, animatedly yapping. And calling Garrett a coward after all that? Soft

I did enjoy after Rudolph got pushed down, he turns around, screams "BITCH" and then gets a prompt knee to the head by his own teammate.

Garrett is suspended indefinitely, Rudolph gets not, Pouncey gets 3 games. I agree with the Garrett suspension for sure. But Pouncey needs about 6 games to me. He threw multiple punches and kicked Garrett in the head. To me it doesn't matter that he was defending his QB, kicking a man in the head while he is down is also a horrible move.

yeah but Garrett had his helmet on when he was getting "kicked".LexAnderson wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 10:49 am Garrett is suspended indefinitely, Rudolph gets not, Pouncey gets 3 games. It was a weird dead because his own player was in the way and that was the only way to get to him immediately.
IDK, kinda joking here but Garrett should go to jail for attempted murder.
Maybe AT LEAST kicked outta the league for good. (suspended indefinitely means he's coming back at some non-defined point)
I'm pretty sure 50 y.o. me could smash a human skull into a few pieces by swinging an NFL helmet into it.
Fucking retard.

But Rudolph was actually getting after Garrett right when he got tackled (and the thrown to the ground) ....he actually tried to Rip Garrett's helmet when they were first on the ground together, face to face. Point is, Rudolph, in the moment, was not afraid of Garrett.....but like you said: dumb.
Garrett's tackle was a shitty one form wise .... a leave your feet thing, and they have to stay with it with limp legs, and twist all around to get him down to the ground a second or so later. I would've looked dumb if let go without finishing the thing. He knew he didn't have the ball at the point.
And who is the fuck is #65 on the Browns? They should just suspend that guy for the rest of the season for being a coward.

Re: 2019-2020 NFL Thread
@mbasic yeah he had a helmet on, but a league that has been on the "no hits to the head no matter what" train should maybe stick to no hits to the head no matter what.
@Hanley I get what you're saying, but in the context I'm ok with Garret bashing him in the head with a helmet. At that point Garret is basically being attacked by two men, so use what you got when the odds aren't in your favor, right?

#66 the lineman is just trying to separate the two.At that point Garret is basically being attacked by two men, so use what you got when the odds aren't in your favor, right?
He only tackles Garrett AFTER the helmet swing.
That 66 guy should get a medal, he basically just laid on Garrett down there, I think
he was just protecting him in a way (from his own rabid teammates at that point).
IF he REAALLYY thought he was being "attacked", you'd swing the helmet at the big lineman wearing a helmet.
The scrawny helmetless QB could be delt with in a myriad of ways.
A part of me understands why Garrett was angry, I want to say a solid punch to Rudolph's helmetless face would of been much more understandable,
but still totally unacceptable.

Nope. I don't see how anybody (including Garret) could reasonably interpret #66's actions as an "attack".LexAnderson wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 11:19 amAt that point Garret is basically being attacked by two men, so use what you got when the odds aren't in your favor, right?
I think the helmet swing was clearly assault with a dangerous weapon. At which point lots of doors open in the justifiable use of force continuum.

Re: 2019-2020 NFL Thread
@mbasic of course I'm joking, I just lobbied to suspend Pouncey for kicking a guy wearing a helmet in the head to be suspended. No way you can justify Garretts actions.
My point is, to me, that it doesn't matter what Garrett did, you don't kick a man in the head while he is down. This isn't a street fight, and as you said #66 was already holding Garret down so Pouncey's actions are just as unnecessary as Garretts and a 3 game ban isn't enough for me. Give him 6 games and a fine, Garrett is getting the biggest punishment which is totally deserved in this situation.
Rudolph deserves a fine because he did initially try to rip Garrett's helmet off first but failed, then continued the issue by unwisely charging after a man who was wearing a helmet while he wasn't. That's just dumb.
