Squats: 285x2x3
Weighted chin-ups 5lb: 5-3.5-3

Squats were meh. I tried to bury them but ended up slightly shallow on all my second reps. And then I psyched myself out mid-set and was comically high on my very last rep. I had safety pins up and my H was there to spot so I had no logical reason to get scared. But Im talented so I managed to anyway!
Chin ups were exciting though, I've never done them weighted before. I'm happy with those sets.

I was going to learn to power clean today as well but I chose to do heavy squats instead. Next time.

No good snacks today. I did eat some pretzels with chip dip though. Unpopular opinion: chip dip is better with pretzels than chips anyways.

Power cleans: 85x3, 95x3, 100x3
Bench: 5x8 @70% so 135
SSBS: 2x6 185

I learned how to power clean today! It was very exciting. And then 8s made me want to die so there was that.
I think I'm going to use the SSB for a second light squat day, 285 the other day was not as solid as I'd like it to be. So once my dl program is done I'll push my squat.

I bought some avocados so I can make those avocado fries I got. I'm thinking the key is freezing or chilling it first before frying.

Yay I'm able to post! I kept getting that 504 bad gateway page.
I ended up splitting my workout because there were too many mosquitoes in the garage last night.

8/27
Deadlifts 3x5 @85%: 245

These went smoothly. I strapped them because I was lazy but that's the last strapped deadlift sesh I'll do because my program is almost finished.

8/28
Incline dumbbell press, 30lb 3x8
EZ bar curls +30lb x5, +25lb 2x5

8/30
Tempo squats 225x5x3
Bench 5x5 @75%: 142.5
Timed cluster chin-ups: 21 in 10 minutes

I got a good night's sleep these last two nights and felt really good for this workout. Benching feels really good, I don't think I've ever done anything over 135 for 5x5 so that's nice.

Second last week of my dl program!

Deadlift 260x3x3
Floor press 95x8x2

260 popped up looking like my warmup set at 185, so I'm feeling pretty optimistic. Next week is 3 singles at 95%!
First time doing floor presses so I only did 2 sets at a light weight. I definitely need to make sure I'm not using the floor to push back up.

9/6
SSBS 190x5x3
Bench 5x3@80%, 152
Chin-ups 2x5, 1x4.5 (because I hitched sooooo bad on the last one)

Welp I was wrong there are a few more weeks of deadlifting. But 275 fucking FLEW!!

Deadlift: 275x1x3
Incline dumbbell press: 4x8 with 40s

And my H built an axle deadlift by bolting some 5lb plates on a pair of tires and that thing is so cool. I actually pulled 300 on it! I'm super proud of him, he's personally built so much of our garage gym.

[putting the Instagram puzzle together]

First, that DL axle is awesome!

Second, the Exodus Strength account has been following your husband and I (the chump who has to run it) have been impressed with the work he’s been doing with a wide variety of clients.

Third, your triceps are swōl af. #jelly

Thanks! I'll pass that along to him!
He is truly an incredible, personable coach. He is a quick learner, highly observant, and an avid researcher and it definitely shows lol.

Squat: 185+chains, no idea how heavy the chains are
Floor press: 100x8x3
Chin-ups +5lb: 4-4.5-3.5

I could definitely have gone heavier with those chains but I'd rather err on the side of lighter than "omg I'm going to die." I'm not cut out for powerlifting 🙈
I gave myself halves on chin-ups because even though I had to hitch I worked really hard for those half-reps.

Bench 5x10 @60%: 115
Cleans: 105x2x3

Third time through the volume portion of bench program, it got easier this time. Although I wanted to die at sets of 10.
Still trying to get my clean technique right. I tried a hook grip this time and it was much better.

OHP: 95x5x5
LTEs: bar +50lb

No deadlifts or any accessory work this week, I retest my max next week!! Eep.

I have not overhead pressed all summer and now my shoulders are crying. But I was happy to see I could still throw 95 lb around with no missed reps. I decided to take a break based on something I read here (can't remember where), just to see if I'd retain everything. I suppose we shall see.

Bench: 4x8 @75%, 142.5
Cleans: 115x2x6

There is something so taxing about 8s. Like if I can do sets of 10, chances are the weight is light enough I can throw it around pretty good. But sets of 8 is like....maaaybe I won't get this one.

YA GIRL MADE IT INTO THE 300 CLUB!
Deadlift: 300x1!!
I tried for 315 but I was not able to lock it out. I hovered it about 2" off the ground, started to pee, and my body went "OH NO WE ARE PEEING GET THEE TO A TOILET" and my brain yelled "NO WE ARE PICKING HEAVY SHIT UP" and my body won and the bar went down again.

OHP: 4x3 @110

Nothing else because I am toasted.

@wilhelm 😁

9/29
Bench 4x5 @80%, 152
Cleans 120x2x6

10/1
Squat 260x3x3
Floor press 125x8x3
Reverse rows (because I am sick of chin-ups) 8-6-8-6

10/3
Deadlift 235x6x4
OHP 115x3x3

10/5
Bench 4x3 @85% 161.5
SSB 200x5x3

10/9
Squat 245x4x4
Floor press 130x8x5
Reverse rows 8-8-6

10/11
Deadlift 255x3x4
OHP 120x3x3

My phone internet has been sucking lately so I haven't been around much. I suppose Verizon thinks I'm on the interwebs too much which.......that's not false.
My last overhead press rep today turned into a slight layback but you know what, I've never done 3x3 at 120, and certainly never that strict.

Congrats on hitting 300. How much of an increase was that from your previous PR and are you going to run the same program again?

Thanks much. It's a 20lb PR, and I'm kinda thinking I will run it again, possibly in the spring. I'm on a mini-program that my H wrote to get 315 because it rankles my ass that I couldn't lock it out, and then I'm onto pushing my squat. We actually ran it together and he also made a 20lb increase (565 > 585).
