Just to confirm, this is touch and go bench?
Yeah.

Belts allowed? Or must be done beltless?

Doesn’t matter.

Gonna put up a "before" video (14 reps.)
Since I can't compete with some of the beasts around here, anyone with a similar starting point want to have a side contest with me?

Interesting. A delta in total reps contest. Fine for a side contest here, but an interesting proposition for future contests as well.

Or a delta in adjusted-for-weight score
Good luck with your BBQing.

Next time, we might want to consider a contest out 90 days. Or maybe just a week. I could see value in both. The 6 weeks window isn't quite enough to do much. It sort of tests your current level. But also kind of gives you a chance to peak. . . .

It’ll be roughly 2 months next go-round.

Sounds good. I can't possibly win, but I like these. . . .

Since I can't compete with anyone around here, anyone want to have an e1RM vs 1RM contest?

I like the idea of the shorter term contest, so it isn’t a long, drawn out event. More of a “walk in the gym some day, crank out a lift, see how you stack up”.

Just a suggestion, but I think it'd be interesting to include an E1rm (based on a single or lower rep set) or recent tested 1rm. Let's see if there are any freaks among us who can rep out a large percentage of their max....or vice versa.

I'm the vice versa, I think.
Somehow I seem to be able to grind out a heavy (for me) bench single but drop the weight 10% and I am lucky to get 3 or 4.

I think that's pretty normal though. RPE charts generally have 3@10 at 92% and 4@10 at 89 or so.

That'll be me. I'll likely get 30-40 reps at 225 and can probably hit ~330 for a single at the moment. A history of high pushup volume seems to carryover pretty well to rep benching. Who'd have thunk it?

No point in pretending I'm going to train and get better in a month, so here's my entry:
225x23 @ 207.9#

Nicely done @broseph!
I made an attempt today but only got 13. I will try again for 15 reps in a couple of weeks and submit that.

I just got 5, it would be nice to get 7 by COB Halloween.
If I could keep my 5 reps strength and get my bodyweight to under 45 pounds, I could give broseph a run for his money
(ETA: less wrong math)
