Road To 800 Bench.

First thought: Yeah right.

Then:

700x3.

Fuark.

The snarky part of me wants to say, if ain't 1x5 then it doesn't count.

The jealous part of me wants to say, a bodyweight bench ain't that impressive.

These are excellent good reps by most any measure, much better than his world record. 800 is unlikely but breaking his own WR with a much cleaner lockout (and avoiding the nearly being beheaded due to shitty spotting) seems very likely. Incredible.

Nobody else did 700 for reps before. Ever. He did an easy triple with a pause and moved them with authority. This is about 2 or 3 months after his WR.

Not saying he'll get 800, but he's already left humanity behind.

Incredible.

Wonder if Sarychev has a chance to catch up with this guy?

I think James Henderson was the most talented though.

If he can stay healthy then who knows what he can do. Everyone said Eddie Hall couldn't get half a ton, but he did.

He tripled 700! And it was easy. He must be close to 800. Just wild.

I watched the video with him & Eddie Hall & he said he's only been lifting for like 5 years. His strength is just stupid.

ROM makes it even more impressive. No crazy arching with a 2 inch press distance.

Watched the same video. I've lifted for 7 years. Felt like he destroyed any internal excuse I might have :?

EDIT: I see that Julius Maddox sells bench programming via his instagram for curing poverty bench (he's talking to my soul). Using Hanley's cookie cutters, I still haven't fully escaped poverty bench. @Hanley, I believe you may have mentioned you have a 400 lbs bench, Maddox has 700 lbs, his programs must be much better than yours then right?

Weird, I seem to remember hearing something about that too. I can't quite place where or when it might've been mentioned though.

I’m so pissed that he’s going to bench 800lbs at a meet that’s 50 miles from where I live and I won’t be able to be there because I have to shoot a wedding on that day...

Brutal strength but he looks like he got a little help from the spotter to my untrained eye
