Very solid 350! Closing in on your lifetime PR, enough gas in the tank for 315 after, spotter doesn't grope you... looks like an ideal training day.

Squats 45,155x12 250x8 315x2 350x1 315x1,1
RDLs (doh) 150x10,6,6

Notes: Pressed for time as has been the case constantly the past two weeks. Next week I’m flying up to NY for a few weeks, which is something of a vacation from obligations no matter how bad work is. I plan to spend hours in the gym doing every damn accessory that I can think of. Anyway, I didn’t have the patience to fuck around with loading and decided that going forward, after my initial warm ups I’m not lifting anything less than 315. It’s dumb because that’s really heavy for me, but I’ll keep hitting it until it’s not. I know @EricK approves.

Soundtrack: Keres / Homo Homini Lupus
If it makes you feel better, I watched this before heading to eviscerate my legs on two hours of sleep to put a pep in my proverbial step.

350 looked like cake. You’ve got a lot more in you, by my eye. Squats are looking really clean! Make hay while the sun shines and all that jazz. If it’s there, get your PR!

I didn't get a notification about this. But, yes. It has been blessed. Really excited about your recent success with squats.

3/18/24

Squats 45,155x12 255x6 315x2 335,355,315,320x1
Bench Press 45,140x12 190x8 230x5 260x2
Barbell Rows 140x8,8,8

Notes: Matched my PR, just under five years later. I'm a bit pissed at myself for not just having added 5 lbs and erasing it, but I really wasn't certain of the outcome. That said, I'm happy with the rep, which looked pretty good and was dramatically different - and better - in terms of form versus 2019. The next few weeks will be interesting.

Good work on bench with the new (much more correct) form.

You now have the mental confirmation that you've got it in the tank, and is no longer an unknown outcome. That alone would be a good day, but improvement upon the metrics that define the same single is very much progress all the same. Much more progress to be made!

@DCR, congrats! Based on 355, 360 is there, as is 365, as is...

Keep it up man. The big 4 plater is just around the corner! Nice to see you didn't get spotter molested.

Great squat! Congrats!

I agree with Karl; you've got more in you. It accelerated on the way up!

I would argue it's probably already there, but maybe a little slower...

100% there if he suddenly decides to throw a belt on...

3/20/24 (back in NY for a spell)

Squats 45,155x12 260x6 315x2 337.5,360,365x1 320x1,1
Lying Leg Curls 60x15,15,15
Standing Calf Raises on platform +10 lbs x20,20,20,20

Notes: Please don’t judge how distended I was after a day of eating every carb in sight to prepare for this session.

I didn’t like the depth on 360, got pissed, and so hit 365 for good measure. The depth there wasn’t my usual either - the result of regressing into old bad habits (sitting back, not staying in my quads) under what I assumed were max weights - but it was legal and I’ll take the PR.

As it turned out, you gentlemen above were right - these definitely were not actually max weights - there’s at least another 20 lbs there. Funny how that became evident after coming home to an apartment lacking a girlfriend and children and getting ten hours of sleep.

I’ll probably stop here, for now. Singles aren’t building any muscle and sure as hell aren’t helping my body composition. This journey began with a high rep base and I felt much better a few weeks ago.

Thank you @lheugh, @KarlM, @cole, @alek, @Renascent, and @mouse for the encouragement over the past twenty-four hours. It mattered.

Oh yeah! PR!
Nice squat. Maybe not the image of perfection that you want it to be, but a super solid squat, especially for a PR attempt. And yes I agree with the others (and you) that there's still more weight to be had if you want it. Totally understandable if you choose to lay off of the singles for now though.

Yeah, great PR, and even more fun than rarely hitting one @10 is managing your training such that you semi-regularly hit one @8
