[vid of football player doing football cleans]
Video says that's 380, but surely they meant 308.
20kg bar and plates = 7 x 20kg = 140kg = 308#
They are 45 lb plates, according to the print on them. So if there were three per side plus bar that's 315 lbs. No collars evident, and it only looks like 2 plates per side to me, but it's really hard to tell in the video from that angle.

THERE !!!
ARE !!
THREE !!
PLATES !!!
=============
doesn't matter
here's 4 (405).
impressive but ugly kinda-squat-clean.
Based on this^ no way the "380" is 380.
They wouldn't look THAT easy again and again like that. (powers, with high catches for reps)
315 sounds about right.

After further review, I agree that the plates are 45's and that there are three per side, so 315#.

Yeah. So not as impressive as 380 would be but the point still stands. Olympic lift "optimization" takes over a decade of dedication. If you took a kid like that and trained him for that decade like other countries do, he's breaking world records in his sleep.

But just like other strength sports it all comes down to $$$$$$. 1 season in the NFL is going to pay more money then most strength sports do in 20 years.
Until strength sports start paying more top talent isn't going to give it much thought.

Yes, which is why my original post said:
The alternate reality where our freakiest genetic freaks can make more money in strength sports than American football is a reality I want to live in...
lol. Personally I'd donate to a voluntary tax fund to see this happen. Some government officials give us an estimate of what it'd take.
If this was a competition lift it would push the multiply bench WR to within 10 lbs of the squat WR, and with a bigger range of motion than the 1311.7 squat.
That was nuts. And after two much larger and accomplished lifters failed.
And after failing to get them twice...
Did you hear her interview afterwards? She had already done the real Dinneys in Scotland, she lives there so it apparently wasn't a big deal to go over there for her, and wasn't planning on doing the replicas at the Arnold. She just happened to be there for a different event and decided to give them a go. Hat is off, plenty of full grown men fail at them.
