That's a lot of squats!
Nice goin' , Root!
Thanks, Wilhelm! Just checked your log...8 sets of 8 looks damn tough.
Sadly, that's the last of that for a while.
Dropped ohp to fit in a third bench session.
You are really packing in the volume.
How long do you estimate till you're back at previous maxes?
Well, I'm still working up to the volume I was doing earlier this year when everything was going well. I've recently been getting upper body volume with high sets, short rest, low-ish reps, and high-ish weight. But I don't think it's as effective as higher rep sets, so I'm going back to that modality. And I'm gonna add back in my intensity days. Don't know why I ever stopped doing what was working in the first place. Just dumb I guess.
No idea when I'll be back setting all time PRs. February?
Did this single (a meet PR) shirless and beltless and strapless because a doctor told me I'm obese yesterday and I somehow feel like this refutes that. So I'm kind of fat, but also kind of strong, so that's not so bad, right? Fuck, I should lose some weight.
Losing weight might not be so bad, but it's kind of a hassle of you're also trying to work back up to PRs. It can be done, though. I don't know what your usual approach is, but I have a spreadsheet I use that's been pretty helpful if you want a copy.

Nice anger deadlift to Weezer.

Find a new doctor and/or ignore their advice about what you should weigh. If they can't figure out that the BMI listed on the chart may not exactly apply person standing in front of them then fuck em. I think I was at a BMI of 30 last time I went to the doc and she didn't mention anything about my weight. She wanted me to run or something you know for cardio. I nodded politely and haven't run.
Lose a few pounds? Sure, if you feel like it... obese? No. I've seen obese and you don't qualify sir.
I've dropped five or six pounds over the last three months or so by taking the milk and chocolate syrup out of my protein shakes and eating one bigger breakfast instead of two moderate ones.

I definitely don't think you're "obese" (well, you might, technically be, but that's just because the term is defined in a way that makes it fucking useless). I was just offering in case you did want to lose some weight. For me, personally, even though I don't think I'm obese (I also qualify for the technical definition), I feel more comfortable and sleep better at a lower weight than is "best" for lifting. It's personal preference, IMO.

Disclaimer (after-the-fact):

I just didn't want to buy new pants (again). And my lifts weren't moving anyway.
Now I need to get another hole punched in my lifting belt or buy a new one. It's always something.
This was as far as I got warming up. Wicked tight in the hips and shoulders. Elbow and lower back were complaining big time, so I hung it up. Try again probably Sunday.
Still pretty stiff and achy for some reason. Got some barely meaningful work in I guess.
On the upside, GF borrowed some lifting shoes and they made a world of difference for her squat. Plus she pulled 135x1 at my insistence after her workset at 115 looked pretty easy. I lied and told her it was only 10 lbs more
