Re: Paul's log - forever delaying the inevitable
SSB w/belt - 335 x 6r x 5s
Bench - 245 x 6r x 5s
Bro work:
Curls - 80+bar x 15 +7 +4
Skullcrushers - 80+bar x 13 +7 +4
Standing delt raises - 15lb bumper x 15 + 10 +5
Feeling the fatigue. Two days no lifting. We'll see how I feel Wednesday.

Today's heavy day:
SSB squat with belt - 340 x 8r x 5s
Bench - 245 x 8, 8, 8, 8, 7
Not bad. Improved on bench and got my squats all done. Taking longer rest periods. These heavy/volume days are getting tough.

Re: Paul's log - forever delaying the inevitable
This morning (Medium Day):
* SSB w/belt - 340 x 6r x 5s
* Bench - 245 x 6r x 5s
* DL - work up to 365 x 1
Bench was harder than I'd like, but I was resting < 4 minutes between sets. Squats went very well. Lower rest periods, but they moved well.
On warmups in DL, my upper neck got very tense and started to cause a massive headache. I've had this happen before with referred neck to head pain, so cut it off before the pain got worse.

Re: Paul's log - forever delaying the inevitable
This morning - heavy squats
SSB + belt = 345 x 8r x 5s
I was wiped out after these five sets. I can feel considerable upper back fatigue, so I scrapped my bench until later today or maybe tomorrow morning. I think doing ssb before bench is a losing strategy for my bench. There is just nothing left in the tank after these.
I video'd the second set if you want to have a good laugh:
https://youtu.be/4HmjrFd1Tt0
Edited: Later same day, did bench
bench - 245 x 8, 8, 8, 7
205 x 8, 8, 8, 8
Was hoping for 8x5 on bench, but wasn't happening today. So, I did some backoffs for reps.

Today:
SSB w/belt - 345 x 4r x 5s
Bench - 215 x 7r x 6s
DL w/belt - 380 x 8r x 3s
Welp. Made it through today, but the fatigue is really setting in after the last few weeks of pushing hard. I can tell - bench and press have stalled, getting some elbow tendinitis (probably from weighted pullups), and my sleep is more disrupted.
I'll finish this week up, then deload.

DL - 135x5, 225x4, 315x3, 365x2, 405x1, (added belt) 425 x 5
Good day. Not easy, but good. Next week is a deload week, which I desperately need.

Deload Week
Bench - 275 x 3r x 4s
SSB squat w/belt - 385 x 3 x 3
Pullups - BW x 15 * - ties PR
2 days off felt good. After all the volume over the last 4 weeks, it is nice to ramp up the weight a bit. All reps were manageable with at lest 1+ in the tank.
This is supposed to be a deload week, but I think it'll be more deload/peak. I may want to test my 1RM early next week.

Re: Paul's log - forever delaying the inevitable
Today:
SSB squat w/belt - 400 x 3 x 3
Bench - 290 x 3, 3, 2 (Failed 3rd rep)
Got heavy today, but got the squats pretty well
I knew bench would be tough. The first 2 sets went well, but just ran outta gas on the third. Oh well. Mission accomplished.
Will do some press and DL tomorrow, then max out early next week.

Press w/belt - 170 x 3 x 3
Deadlift w/belt - 455 x 5
BW rows - 20, 16, 13
Great day today. I planned on 455 for two triples. Third rep went up so nice I went to my (preferred) plan of a single set of 5. I've not been able to do 455 x 5 in so long.... This was a very nice win for an older-ish man that's still trying to hit a few decent lifts.

Heavy Squat Day
SSB w/belt - 350 x 8r x 4s, 350 x 3r x 3s = 41 reps
Bench - 215 x 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 6, 7, 6 = 68 reps
Tough workout, but those are the best.
Decided on squats to cut out the last set and break it into 3 smaller sets. Bench felt good until after the fifth set. Just running out of gas.

Re: Paul's log - forever delaying the inevitable
I have not been logging the last few sessions. My bad!
Yesterday (pulling day)-
DL w/belt and w/straps - 390 x 8r x 3s
Curls - curl bar + 70 lbs = 15r x 4s
Today:
SSB squat w/belt - 360 x 6 x 6
Bench -275 x 3r x 10s

Today's work:
SSB squat w/belt - 365 x 6r x 4s
Bench - 220 x 7r x 8s
That was plenty for today.

Light Pull/Press day
OHP (beltless) - 140 x 5r x 9s
Pullups (BW + 25lb) - 7, 7, 6, 5
Got a nice case of golfer's elbow on my left arm. Not a problem for press, but the first set or two was somewhat painful on pullups, but got better in later sets.

Default
Today's work:
DL w/belt and straps - 395 x 8, 8, 10
Video:
Yes, First 2 reps were not to lockout - I tend to rush things when I do higher rep deadlifts and squats.
Bench -235 x 5r x 8s - various grip widths.

Re: Paul's log - forever delaying the inevitable
Decided to start transitioning from high volume to more intensity. I wanted to see where I was at. I've done no peaking or deloading or anything like that recently. My last heavy squat day was Wednesday, deadlifts on Thursday, so didn't expect much.
SSB squat w/belt - worked up to 430 (lifetime PR!), then 395 x 4, 4, 4 (last rep of the 3rd set was a grinder), then 380 x 4
Bench - work up to 320 (lifetime PR!), then 275 x 4 x 4, 225 x 12 (AMRAP)
Good day - better than I expected or deserved.

Today:
Deadlift w/belt - 455 x 1, 405 x 3r x 4s
Press w/belt - 155, 165, 175, 180, 185, 165 x 3 x 4
My back was fatigued from yesterday's workout - DL was tough. Took what I could get.
Presses felt suprisingly good, however.
