Right.

I don’t even deadlift anymore, and still felt this right in my nuts.

It was unplanned. Still pissed off about my watch.

When I feel like going into the garage in the wee hours of the morning is going to be a daunting prospect, I'm reminded you're out here deadlifting in the outdoors at dusk.

I meant to comment on that earlier. There are few, if any, feelings worse than having been robbed, and in my experience the feeling has nothing to do with the value of the property. It's the violation. I'm sorry that it happened and fuck the perpetrator(s). Hope it gets you a lifetime PR, though. I see that you're breathing on it.

I try not to make that a habit.

I never keep anything of value in my car overnight, though I do forget groceries pretty often. Fortunately all they got was a dollar I found in a parking lot and said watch.

And thankfully they left my aux cable and closed the fucking door all the way. They also didn't check the trunk, since my 5lb bag of s'mores-flavored protein powder was still there.

Really fucked up part is that I went to bed real late that night, so there's a chance I might've been awake when they came sneaking through. Kinda pissed I didn't go sit out on the porch on a whim.

I wouldn't want to risk getting cops involved, and I partly suspect they may not have been armed (seemed like a crime of opportunity?). I'd have loved to choke the living shit out of this slimy motherfucker with the car door.

Not intentionally pushing my deadlift at the moment, but if something is there, I'll take it.

To be fair, the range of motion is a lot shorter than it is for a standard row, and it's a lot easier to load these more heavily.

Not sure how much longer or heavier I'm going to push these, though.

Hmm, the way I was doing them ROM felt about the same. Leaning over about parallel to the ground, bar to belly button-ish. Are you more upright? I could see that changing it and taking some biceps out of it.

Yeah, more upright. Hips closer to a 45-degree angle than 90.

I didn't want the bar to stall on the way up. Wasn't as smooth as when I did this for a PR once before.

Ah, got it. Still, those were solid reps and neither looked like a max.

That said, as a fellow forebearer of a belt, I've found that going for an actual, form-breaking max on the press isn't the most swell idea.

Even with a belt 💀

I'm fairly sure a guy at my last competition ruptured a disc trying to press the axle.

Thanks. It was supposed to be just one attempt at 220, as a follow-up to a few weeks prior.

Not totally pleased with it, but good to know that 230 would not be an outlandish goal if I should choose to attempt it in a few weeks.
