What’s on Netflix?!?

#1

Post by mgil » Sat Oct 21, 2017 6:45 pm

A thread for general suggestions.

I watched Patton Oswalt’s recent stand-up special. It’s excellent. Sure there is a bit of political humor, but the backstory of his wife’s recent passing and how he’s been dealing is touching and his ability to weave it into humor is quite remarkable.

What else you guys and gals got?

Don’t forget you can use spoiler tags if so needed!

There is a James Brown documentary on there. I’ll likely watch it next weekend when my wife goes out of town.

In the meantime, I’ve been alternating the latest seasons of Portlandia and Schitt’s Creek.

Don't waste your time on the new release movie Larceny starring Dolph Lundgren, it's a real stink bomb.

He's definitely not in the same league as Nic Cage. ;)

And the classic... Universal Soldier. "Maybe I should shoot her in the head."

Dolph Lundgren killed it in "Showdown in Little Tokyo".

Yep, very good.

Stranger things 2 is out next week. Everyone should watch the first one if they haven't.

Been watching Twin Peaks. Watched a ton of Lynch movies, but never the show.

It's definitely in that "I'm not sure I'm enjoying this or not" space. It's good, I think?

Mindhunters. Based on the true story of how the FBI Behavioral Science Unit (which was one dude) started profiling serial killers. The actor that portrays Ed Kemper in interviews...brilliant. They were literally making it up as they were going. Main character becomes unlikable as show goes on. Interesting decision but it worked.

Stranger Thing Season 1 and 2(upcoming). Someone already mentioned it. Watch it. Love it.

House of Cards Season 1 is really good. Jumps shark a bit after that.

Better Call Saul.

Second all these but particularly mindhunters.

I'm also rewatching TNG. The early episodes are mesmerizing. I even like Q a bit more.

I have heard the Castlevania show is good. Can't actually attest to it as I don't have Netflix because I'm too busy lifting barbell and winning at life/video games.

I'm on the last episode of season 1 of Mindhunters. Great series.
