MPat wrote: Fri Aug 28, 2020 1:42 pm I’m hoping on the incline gain-train. I really dig my Edge SSB. No Doubt this is a great well built piece of equipment. But there is not many photos and the description says there is only 4 positions?

I’m comparing this to some of the options from Rep. which full decline sounds neat too, but I’d still bet Edge had a more stable bench.

Edit: can this replace my rogue utility flat bench for all my flat benching needs? Don’t know if I want to keep two benches around.

That said I’d personally go with Edge because I’d rather support us manufacturing when possible and I don’t need it to replace my fb or adjust more than 30/60/90
I can probably with with the 30/60/90, are you saying this is not a suitable replacement for a flat bench?

I don’t have much experience with inclines, other then using one at a Globo gym here or there. So one bench to handle all my benching would be cool.
I expect it will be better than a globo gym bench and comparable to the Rep AB 3000, incline or otherwise. Having benched with a quality, full width grippy flat bench (my FB 5000) I'd never be able to go back to benches with gaps or slicker padding. If you told me I could only have one bench I'd buy the Rep AB 5000 Zero Gap. I haven't seen anything else comparable on the market. Unfortunately so would everyone else so I don't expect it to be in stock any time soon (or any of their benches really).

I really want the Rep zero gap bench. It's just been out of stock forever.....

Take my money already lol. I already have a home gym, but 'Rona is making it hard for me to continually buy stuff I don't need.

What about this from iron master? Lots of cool attachments, the seat is removable so when flat it’s solid.

https://www.ironmaster.com/products/super-bench-pro/

Anyone have experience with this bench?

Edit: read the reviews after I posted, makes me feel a little meh about this bench.

I mentioned it in the 2nd reply :)

I think it might be a decent bench based on what I've read. They made some improvements to it, as well.

It'll be back in stock in a few weeks it looks like. $400 shipped for an adjustable bench isn't terrible price wise, either.

They run sales (15% off IIRC) on 4th of July and Black Friday, but likely won't have stock to do that this year.

So I emailed Rick with Edge fitness asking a few questions about his bench, mainly the ones I’ve had here. Big one being if it could be a suitable replacement for me rogue utility 2.0 for flat benching needs. His response was to spring for the transformer bench if I can afford it, and also that he could put a 12” on the incline for me if I’d like.

https://edgefitnesssystems.com/products ... ch-package

Not gonna lie, I’m half way thinking about it, mainly just because it’s a really neat piece. But 700+ shipping is damn steep for my garage gym, and my sub 300# bench...

Some more digging....

This brand has been mentioned, though their standard incline is like 1,200. This one has a good price point at 600 and looks to be pretty solid.

I think I might even call for quotes on the two following benches as well. Am I going to disappointed in the price?

Legend is way less than $1,200 (may be a bit more than half that with shipping, probably depends on your location) and an incredibly solid piece of equipment. Design is fine with me, gap isn’t a problem when using it flat, but it could be for some, depending on size and proportions.

Regarding the EliteFTS bench, I think EliteFTS resells and rebrands equipment from a company called Williams. I heard it is faster and sometimes cheaper to just go straight to Williams.

I have this guy and LOVE this thing. So, it's not a heavy duty tank like some others, but it is Solid, and for a smaller home gym, it's really the perfect adjustable bench. The attachments look kinda gimmicky, but every one I have works very well. No regrets at all buying this bench and selling my Rogue flat bench.

Total Speed and Strength / Williams Strengh does not look like they even sell stuff to the public based on their latest website. I would look at the other EliteFTS benches before Collegiate if you're price conscious.

My guess is around $500 and $200 to ship.

Guys thanks for keeping this going, at least we are making a nice resource for the future.

Legend quoted around 550+215 for shipping, ouch.

The Sorinex I posted above is about 830.00 shipped.
More ouch.

I’m not sure what shipping would be from Rep on the zero gap to compare.

I had already sent elitefts the email about the collegiate, I’ll ask him for prices on those other benches as well.

Moral of the story a kick ass incline bench is stupid expensive, maybe reps cheaper options aren’t so bad now lol.

I'm sure its about $200, they are all using comparable shippers (FedEx, UPS). Might just depend on your location vs. where its shipping from.

Very ouch. Guessing a road trip to Knoxville isn't feasible for you. Or Columbus? Denver?

Who is in Columbus? I’m outside of Baltimore md. But I travel out to western MD a few times a year, although Columbus is probably still a freaking haul from there, and my truck gets shit gas mileage so it would probably be a wash.

The Rogue is in Columbus. But looks like they have no adjustable benches in stock at the moment.

No in-store pickup from Rogue due to Covid (unless it is changed very recently) which sucks for us who live right next to Columbus and want to buy shit but not pay hundreds of dollars for 30 miles of shipping.

Bummer. Hadn't heard that. Is the shipping cheaper if you live nearby? Can you bribe some employee to pick it up for you and load it in your car in some parking lot down the block during their lunch break or something? Lol.

Elite Fts called back. More of the same.

Collegiate bench starts at 799
The cheapest incline starts at 585

They actually ship out of South Carolina. But still a rough estimate of 200+ for shipping.

IronMaster Super Bench back in stock this month apparently.
Do it.

That’s what I fell back to looking at by default. Came here to comment, it’s a 400 dollar bench, and free shipping! I’m a home gym and would be very happy to get my bench to 315, just being honest probably won’t go past that much... website still says out of stock. But yeah I’m thinking hard on that right now.

I can’t wrap my head around how the pin system is stable for flat bench under heavy loads compared to a ladder design.
