Solid. We make spud pins with them for the barges.

They do. I was planning on welding on some 2" ID washers. Haven't weighed it yet but it's probably 80ish lbs.

Cap OB-86B
Titan Rackable SSB
Neutral grip bar (Custom fabricated by a friend who fabricates things)
Xmark EZ Curl bar
Aluminum Tech Bar (not sure of brand)

Re: How many bars do you own?
I have:
Stainless steel OPB
Ivanko OBX-20KG
Primal 25mm women's bar - for the wife
Aussie Strength Fat Bar
ATX Swiss bar
Brought and sold both and Aussie Strength and ATX SSB as I never found much enjoyment from them.
My next purchase will probably be a Rogue deadlift bar

Re: How many bars do you own?
30 year-old bent beater bar from somewhere. I still use it for landmine work and viking presses.
Plus two very nice American Barbell bars. I splurged on them about 3 years ago after a lifetime of shitty bars.
Non-standard: An original Gerard trap bar and a Swiss bar from from Black Widow Training Gear.

Re: How many bars do you own?
I put down 3.
Rogue OPB
Rogue B&R
Junky bar that’s 20 years old and bent with knurling veneer
I also own:
Rogue Bella 2.0 Bar (15kg)
Edge Fitness SSB
Wright Fitness Trap Bar (rackable)
X Mark EZ Curl Bar (rackable)
Having two standard 20kg bars is good for training alone and doing supersets or training with a friend. The Bella was from when I entertained the notion of coaching others. The EZ Curl bar is way better on my wrists. The SSB saves my shoulders. The trap bar is a nice tool.

Re: How many bars do you own?
Damnit. Voted after seeing the first post, so I said 2, but that's not right after the change of mind.
I've got six and counting.
ATX power bar
My first cheap and nasty bar I mostly use for deadlifts now
ATX SSB
Morgan black oxide trap bar
Swiss bar of unknown provenance
EZ curl bar
I have no more bar storage but kinda wonder where to go from here.

Re: How many bars do you own?
Just 4.
Olympic Bar of unknown origin procured from Crossfit Gym
Ladies Bar of unknown origin procured from Crossfit Gym
EZ Curl Bar
Titan SSB V2
Extremely dumb question, but am I really missing out by not investing in a proper Power Bar? I know I need to get one eventually for when I decide to compete again but I've been procrastinating.
I use the Olympic Bar for pretty much everything except the stuff specifically calling for the EZ Curl or SSB. It's not too badly beat up. The heaviest weight that goes on the bar right now is no higher than the low 400s for deadlifting, so it's not like it's bending under load (I think?).

Re: How many bars do you own?
The knurling on the powerbar is really nice, but to be honest I think that unless you are lifting like 700lb I doubt that you are going to notice much difference in terms of flex. But the knurling is really good.GrainsAndGains wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 5:26 pm Just 4.

You really think so? I feel like the flex is noticeably different between a 28.5mm and a 29mm bar at half that weight. Not arguing that he necessarily has to "upgrade," but it would be good to know if he's currently lifting on a 130k psi bar or a 200k psi bar (assuming it's either 28 or 28.5 mm).

Re: How many bars do you own?
Squat bar from Jesup Gym - who are retired now
2 3/8" axle - originally a Mastiff prototype bar that I bought from Karl Gillingham, but we bent it pretty bad so It got re-engineered a little
Ohio Bar, not the Power one
Pendlay bar
Chrome cheapo bar with something that looks like it was supposed to be knurling. It was all I could find locally here.
Everything is in NC except that last bar, which is where I am in central america.

Wait a second. @mbasic - did you start this thread just so you can start a "How many bras do you own?" thread in a day or two and trick us all into accidentally clicking it?

Re: How many bars do you own?
Your correct. My Ivanko is 28mm 200k psi and I can notice a difference compared to the 29mm 195k powerbar in terms of pulling the slack from the bar from about 140kg, and definitely at 180kg (stiff bar feels slightly harder to break from the floor, like maybe might cost me 1kg on a 230kg lift).AdamSkillin wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 6:39 pmYou really think so? I was more talking about the point at which the flex in the bar is going to be so significant that it might amount to an actual significant difference in what you can lift (particular for squat), where you might 'need' a powerbar.
People did just fine training for decades without stiff bars, so for your average lifter a powerbar is a luxury not a necessity.
Obviously you are going to notice a big difference if you are going from a POS 130k psi bar.

I note that myy Ivanko is 28mm 200k psi and I can notice a difference compared to the 29mm 195k powerbar in terms of pulling the slack from the bar from about 140kg, and definitely at 180kg (stiff bar feels slightly harder to break from the floor, maybe might cost me a kilo it tow at a max pull if like 230kg).
I note that the feel of the flex does make a difference in how nice the bars are to use. One of the reasons I want a deadlift bar is I like the feel of pulling the slack from the 28mm bar, but Ivanko has a stupid knurling pattern on the OBX where the knurl goes an inch or so further in then is standard, so the smooth part of the bar is narrow and you need to take a very close stance or you drag the knurl up your legs. The OPB doesn't have this problem but the stiffer bar doesn't feel as nice pulling if the floor, so a deadlift bar would solve both problems. But dropping a couple of hundred $ for that is most definitely a luxury.
Which is by way of saying People did just fine training for decades without stiff powerbars, so for your average lifter a powerbar is a luxury not a necessity. Obviously however you are going to notice a big difference if you are going from a POS 130k psi bar.

Re: How many bars do you own?
8kg child/elderly x1
15kg women's WL x2
20kg PL bar x4
20kg WL bar x2
22.5kg SSB x1
But again, that's not all for me, I share the garage gym with (at most) couple of dozen others.
A couple of the bars are a bit worn from being racked, need to be replaced. Hard to get decent WL bars in Oz nowadays though.

other:
there's been some references to tensile strengths AND diameters in the discussion about whip or flex.
IIRC, 200K or 120K has very little do with the actually bending, whip, or bounce .... that is 99% determined by diameter.

Re: How many bars do you own?
Curious about what you're referring to on this point. As long as the bar diameters are the same and it stays straight upon unloading there shouldn't be a difference.

Got it last night. UPS guy was thrilled to deliver a giant 90# box in blizzard at 7 at night. Bar looks good, though.murphyreedus wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 7:12 am StrengthShopUSA spider bar (on the damn UPS truck for delivery, delayed due to a blizzard, but I'm counting it)
