Air fryer / actifryer?

#1

Post by Oldandfat » Sun Sep 12, 2021 3:07 pm

So we have an actifry air drier. It’s has a little “arm” thingie that moves the food along and kinda flips it.

It works unless your frying anything with breading. The arm thingie peels breading off.

No real hurt as it was a Boxing Day real cheap deal.

Anyhows, there’s newer, and more better fryers. Some have simply a basket, and others have a spinning basket (aka rotisserie).

Anyone have any recommendations? What to look for? Which style is better?

Mine has a stationary basket. No arm. Works great.

Any reason you chose a basket over a rotisserie basket?

I just realized now instant pot makes an air fryer lid. Might be an option

It was a gift, so, nope. Still works great. I just take it out and shake it every 5-10 minutes depending on what I'm cooking at the time.

I absolutely love my air fryer since acquiring one from the in-laws several months ago. Mine too just has a stationary basket though there's a gap underneath to ensure crispy awesomeness of whatever I chuck in it. We rarely use our oven now, none of this pre-heating malarky.

Think I've increased my consumption of cheap chicken-like products by 400% since using it, should probably acquire shares in tempura batter.
