Sanddune stepper
I discovered that walking in sands does a lot of good to my ankles. Except, we don't live near any beaches so the Sanddune Stepper seems the next best thing.
It doesn't look like they're sold here in Australia, so I'm thinking of making a DIY one. Has anyone tried that? I was thinking of a relatively deep box filled with sand, but I'm not sure if that would just result in the sand getting compacted.

Re: Sanddune stepper
I think it might work with the right kind of sand? But I don't know. The stepper thing looks interesting, and I might consider it if it wasn't so expensive.

Before messing around with sand, I'd look at getting some high or very high-density foam (Airtex is sold around me, idk what y'all upsidedowners have) and then maybe gluing a layer of industrial batting on top of it and then grippy thick fabric. From the pictures that's what it seems to be. I feel sand in a box would work, but be a mess and require some kind of fluffing system.

Well, thanks for doing a bunch of R&D for me.5hout wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 8:36 am Before messing around with sand, I'd look at getting some high or very high-density foam (Airtex is sold around me, idk what y'all upsidedowners have) and then maybe gluing a layer of industrial batting on top of it and then grippy thick fabric. There will be products like that available for sure, just depends on cost. A quick google showed me a local supplier who has high density foam, so I may contact them.

I fully, even erectly one might say, stand by my statement.

Re: Sanddune stepper
Phrasing notwithstanding, I had the thought that if I made the box big and deep enough that should solve both mess and fluffing issues.
