Titan? Always an option. And scratch and dent has racks usually are at least posts you can buy and add to a 4 post

The plate storage section is too long on most 6 post racks in my opinion. At most, you just need clearance from the plates. I would look at building the Rep PR 4000 with 16" cross members

A 45lb plate is ~18 in diameter, so the 16" plus spacing of the 3" upright should get you there.

All good suggestions. It's such a small space, what I really think need is a way to go vertical. I found this wall rack that's interesting and not terribly expensive that I could install and then keep my current rack.

You could build something yourself with some 1x4 boards, pipe flanges, some 12” pipe nipples, and lag screws for less.

I’d drill holes through the board and sandwich the flanges between the board and the wall and lag through the flanges into your wall studs.

I thought about that. That would also have the advantage that I can tailor it to the space.

Why the 1 x 4? Why not lag flange right into stud? I thought someone here did just that?

To provide a bit of stand-off from a flat wall and protect the wall from the plates and allow the fingers space to access.

Makes sense. There is a bit of a stand off though. At least the flanges I’ve,seen at HD.

How much weight do you think a 12” flange,could take? 5-45’s?

@Hiphopapotamus
I used to have my space in 13.5' x 10.75', and did Olympic lifting in there. Had a full rack against one wall (far enough away to bench) with an 8x8' platform and a ~25" extension for the rack. I previously had a 6 post rack and used the 2 spare uprights for weight storage against the wall back wall on either side of the rack.

Thanks, yeah that's sort of the idea I've had and seeing it is helpful. I think I'm going to just have to bite the bullet at this point and move my current equipment in there with what I have and see what the space feels like instead of trying to plan it out ahead of time. Then I can figure out what I need to change.
