The winner of WSM will always be the winner, more than 50% of marriages end in divorce. Just sayin...

I am going to be there for the qualifying heats. I have a hotel booked close by the event. I couldn't do all of it without excessive backlash, so I opted for the heats. Anyone else going to be there?

I won't be there but I know Adam Bishop's training partner (and have met Bishop himself on several occasions), Simon Yates, and he will be there for obvious reasons.

I think Bishop got a pretty good grouping, honestly. He's got a fair shot of making the final IMO. Novikov got a good group as well, I don't know that Shaw makes the final this time though, and I don't think Hicks has a great shot of getting out of his group either.

Yeah I'm cautiously optimistic with his (Bishop's) grouping.

Bishop is having a mostly lousy comp. Hooper is destroying on everything, Novikov is on cruise control to the final right now. Tom Stoltman almost certainly is in and looking on form, Shaw looks to be in with a shout barring something crazy. Mateusz is tanking so far, he is not on form at all. Iron Biby is out, injured in the warmup area (Left bicep) and replaced before the first event. Bobby Thompson looks to have a hamstring injury on the Log Ladder, he vipered the first four logs and then limped off without getting the fifth. Not sure how serious yet, but probably not nothing. Luke Stoltman has an injury to the left calf of some kind. Kordiyokov (spelling?) Is going well, but the Deadlift hurt him.
Singleton and Trey Mitchell are leading their group.

Pavlo K, Schoonwinkel, Novikov, Hooper, Trey Mitchell, Ragg, Stoltman, Stoltman, Shaw, Singleton. The finalists for 2023.
Thompson finished off his right hamstring in the Stone Off, Smaukstelis did in his groin on his Stone Off, and the Heinla vs Shaw Stone Off was epic and ridiculous.

The other videos are still uploading, will post tomorrow.

Hooper's Conan's Wheel needs a lot of help, but he won it in his hear anyway. Novikov smoked everyone in all Heats in the Wheel and Trey Mitchell got ALL 7 of the KB Over Bar in UNDER 35 seconds. I was close enough to actually see the stopwatch he was timed with during the event.

Shaw Heinla video is coming. It's a 5 1/2 minute video and it's just lifting.

It's raining in SC, Fingal's Fingers didn't happen this morning. They did the Shield Carry instead, which just finished. I'm not there, which is good because today would have sucked out loud, but Hooper won the first event and Novikov second I believe. Shaw was I think 8th or 9th place, only guy worse was was Schoonwinkel who tripped just off the line and maybe the guy Shaw was up against. They were really close. Kordyakov lost a length for not crossing the line or something and went from first to like 6th.

Scarcity of info, probably because the rain turned the schedule upside down, but Hooper has won 2 out of 2 events so far in the final and Novikov is in 2nd. Tom Stoltman is in 4th going into Fingal's. This has been Hooper's to lose since the first whistle on Wednesday. He has atrocious form on the Wheel and the Shield and just keeps going anyway.

Hooper had a less than great Fingals, he got all 5 but was the slowest guy to get all 5. The spread was hundredths of a second across three of them though, he got a "Bad" placing by an eye blink. The times were retarded close for 3-5. Hooper still leads, by half a point over all, and it's I think 2 or 2.5 points from first to fourth place at the end of day 1. DB is good for Novikov, truck pull is anybody's guess, Stones are good for Tom. It's just a matter of not getting hurt really badly on one event. It is gonna be tight tomorrow.

Schoonwinkel is out. That sucks.
Hooper and Singleton tie for first on Giant DB.
Novikov is in second overall, Tom Stoltman is half a point behind him, Hooper is surprisingly holding a better lead after the event than before.
