I have an Inzer Forever belt that I've had for over 10 years. At certain body weights or just randomly if it's not set quite right it cuts into the side of my pelvis pretty hard. Not enough to stop me if I were doing something like a 5 rep set but enough to cause me to give up on a high rep AMRAP. And enough to leave welts.

Is this normal for lifting belts or is it a problem with Inzer belts? I have read the criticisms about the Inzer design preventing true break-in, so I'm thinking perhaps the latter.

If so, belt recommendations? I'll also probably get a dip attachment if that matters.
Robus leather layer in the Inzers
I've heard that the much older Inzers do break in, but i have no idea for sure.

I've found my Pioneer 13mm lever belt comfortable from day one.
Single suede dyed black leather, bought via Rogue, but i see the black Stock 13mm Lever directly from Pioneer states the leather is more pliable than the earlier stock belt of that spec. And you can get it with the PAL already on it.
I retrofitted the PAL. If i ever have a meet director being strict and requiring the IPF approved lever, i still have that and bring it with me to meets.
That shouldn't be an issue at state level USAPL meets though.

In the video Matt talks about some of those belts that don't have the edges chamfered/sanded, and maybe that's part of the comfort factor with my belt.
It's frankly more comfortable to me than my 10mm Titan longhorn.

If you already use a lever belt, i find it hard to imagine you wouldn't like the Pioneer.
Sometimes after heavy sets of deadlift i may have marks for a while, but i wouldn't call them welts.
I push the belt down on my hips for squats, and i might grab it by the bottom edge sometimes when i can "feel it" on initially putting it on, but that's very minor.
I would not describe it as cutting into me.

Interesting, wonder how you could improve on it, as V1 is pretty damn good.

I’m thinking of a lever now. Didn’t realize pal was a thing, and wearing my belt looser for pulling eliminated a lever for me.

Do t,think I’ll wait for vs 2 cause I think vs1 is fine??

Where’s Cody been? He might have some insight? Don’t know how to do the “highlight someone’s name to get their attention” thing

From USAPL President -

A little bit. It seems to be a last ditch effort kind of thing and prob need better sales numbers first. Its tough to get that product out of the powerlifting world and break into the fashion world. We are going to try on our own first and then maybe down the line could look into it again.

I would love to go in there and pitch it. Already have some thoughts on how to knock their socks off.

Though maybe this is not helpful, I don't actually love how it looks on normal belts. I feel like they need more vertical separation and closer horizontally to look like two slightly off-set rows or something. My instant response to this picture is "huh, someone got a little tipsy when punching holes"

(though it should be noted that I'm not an active participant in the sartorial thread, and none of my boots cost more than $100)

I would agree on that point @Skander.@Skander more seperation would look cleaner but tough to do with such a thin strap. If we're able to licence it out, im sure the company taking it on may have some input as well.

I emailed pioneer with this question. They are hoping by mid March. Website will be updated when the pal2 is out. I’ve been watching the web site daily.

Yes that is correct from what i gather as well. But that's just from the IG page. I dont talk with Matt much about the PAL. Although I need to try one out.

Just don't handle it by twisting the shit out of the end everytime you put it on and off, like i did for two years, and you'll be fine.
Even with all of that, no stitching is loose on my belt.
Now i just do like the last two pictures here.
Wilhelm wrote: Mon Mar 07, 2022 6:14 am So, revisiting this.

After handling my belt this way for two years, i did notice the layers slipping slightly on the edge just at this point where the torsion was applied over time.
I would also raise it up from this point to an even greater amount of twist each time i would put on and remove the belt over the past two years.
Stitches are not loose.

I've since simply adjusted how i handle the belt.
Problem solved, no need to anticipate warrantying the belt.

Theyve shored up one of the pins that was coming loose for some people and they widened the part that gets screwed in because it was "folding" for thinner/softer belts. Long story short: its more secure but functions exactly the same
