Fantastic Friday

SDL:

245x5@6, 6.5, 6, 6.5, 7

Belt Squats*:

?x5@? Five times

Military Press:

185x1@7
135x5@6,6,7 (paused)
135x8@7.5 (no pause, used to get last set of fives up to 7)

Notes:

I have to figure out a rig for the hip belt squats. Back stayed nice and flat on sumo pulls.

*I am going to build a rig of sorts to do these. They were decent even being done half assed.

Fucking sheets. Who would have thought they were so damn heavy.

Is there any kind of procedure where they can extract of neutralize the crystals? They are dissolving your joint. There must be something. People would pay shit loads of money for it. . . .

Heat helps them dissolve back into the bloodstream and then the elevation carries them away.

I heated my foot and it started throbbing for hours.

Heat and elevation above your heart? Also, indomethacin knocks the inflammation down (for me) very quickly.

Manly Moobs Monday

BP:

275x1@5.5
325x1@8.5
285x3@7.5, 7, 7
255x5@6.5, 7.5

Notes:

Good session. Bench was feeling strong, so I took a ten pound jump over last week. Probably could have stuck with 5lbs jump (320) and hit @8, but a ~0.5 overshoot isn't terrible. The layout here gets 20 solid reps in and I don't feel beat up. That's progress.

+/- .5 RPE is fine. Strong benching.

Thanks!

I'm just proud that my bench is probably my strongest lift right now. I have a 1,000lbs total split evenly amongst S/B/D. Cool.

Thighceps and Triceps Tuesday

SDL:

275x5@6, 6, 6.5, 6.5, 7

OHP:

245x1@9
205x3@7, 6.5, 8
185x5@7, 8, 8.5

Notes:

Good session. Sumo continues to improve in both form and weight.

OHP was also good. I'm 99.99% certain that I could have doubled 245. Maybe tripled, but I was conservative. 205 was easy for triples. Fatigue ramped up quickly on the sets of 5. 25 solid reps.

Hump Day Pump Day Rump Day

FS:

315x1@8.5
255x3@7, 7.5, 8
185x5@7

Ab Wheel:

Knees x 5@7, 6, 7

Notes:

Front squats went well. Strength seems to be coming back. Ab wheel was suspiciously easy today.

Probably getting my back slowly sorted is helping out...

Also it's pretty cool that my log gets pushed to page two in just one day. Seriously.

I'm liking the single / triples / fives set-up. Working well you think?

I kinda dig it. It's one of Andy Baker's tricks to get a mix of intensity and volume in during the same session. It's also working well with the RPE drops.

Tender Thursday

CGBP:

300x1@9
265x3@8
245x3@7
225x3@7, 6.5
225x5@7.5, 8

Notes:

Front squats made my deltoids a bit sore today and the cursed ab wheel made my (fl)abs sore. I think 300x1 on CGBP is a PR though. I'll take it. Shoulders started loosening up at 225. I was going to stick with triples, but since I did loosen up, I did two sets of 225x5.

Also dealing with bad poison ivy on my right arm which was a bit distracting as well. No matter strength is indifferent (I just made that up, disregard Mike T)!
