Got another 45% off code for MyProtein, and this time it actually came to 45% at checkout.
last one didn't compute the price correctly.

I managed to screw up my order and had 44lbs of vanilla ordered, since i'm used to unflavored being the only option from where i usually shop.
Called MyProtein, and they managed to cancel the order before a charge was placed with paypal.

I went with concentrate this time, since the extra calories will be helpful in my daily bulking routine, and i have plenty of room in my carb budget.
I have an unopened 20 kilo bag of isolate, but my wife uses that, and it will last a long time for just her needs.

I'd go so far as to say that it's so common you should never pay much more than 60%.

Add a deal alert for "Myprotein" on Slickdeals. You'll get an email when someone posts a deal. I've been buying 11 lb unflavored Impact Whey since 2016 at $50/bag, shipped.

Might have to try that, sounds better than getting their marketing emails AT LEAST once a day...

+1

I've been unsubscribing when I'm good on Protein, and then a couple weeks until I need to order more I re-sub and watch for 40% off or something like that.

You could also set up a separate email account for all that junk mail. Or just set up some inbox rules to automatically sort it/archive it.

Hmm, good point on the filters. I use exclusively gmail for personal stuff, and their built in spam filter is excellent, I get almost no spam in my inbox, and maybe a handful of real emails in spam a year. With only 3 custom filters for labeling different linked email accounts (or emails from wife actually).

Yeah, GMail just dumps all the MyProtein emails into the "Promotions" folder. I really need to get it to dump the Steam Sale emails in there too, but I'm too lazy.

I looked at the 45% off MyProtein offer, but they had jacked up the prices, so it came to more than the last time with the same discount, so i decided to wait.
$242 vs $227 for the same 4 four 11 pound bags of unflavored concentrate.

I did just get a new code to go with the site discount.
25% off for the email offer, plus current site discount brings it back in line at $228.52 with free shipping, sales tax, and paypal surcharge.

This is a little b/c the sale ends tonight, but costco has the 5.6lbs bag of ON Gold Standard for $43.00.

MyProtein has 50% off everything right now.

I love that i can get a good price on protein, but i still hate their jinky little site.

Put four 11lb bags on unflavored whey in my cart, got a price, added one 11lb bag of isolate, and the price of the original four bags went up 30 dollars.
It seems it's always some damn thing.

Once a 45% off sale listed a price that was only 40% off, and other stuff like that.
Don't take the sale prices for granted, and keep track of what your orders cost last time.

I've seen higher % off sales, and they jack the base price up.
Still good deals to be had, just be careful.

"60% off + 30% off" right now. I should actually keep track of what I pay per lb because the numbers always seem arbitrary. But I needed some creatine so I figured it wouldn't hurt to add 7lbs to my order. You know, to get free shipping.
I also found a 2lb bag of protein in a cabinet at home that I had thought was cat food. I think it's pretty new, at least...

"Up to" 60% off.
That's one of their little wrinkles/tricks

It is a good idea to track your past prices as you go.
I've seen them up the regular price during a sale -

Also watch that whatever % they say comes off, actually comes off.
One time they offered 45% off, and what calculated once i entered the code was 40% off.
That was the only time that happened.
I just waited for another better offer that time.

Since the price of 20 kilo bags at bulksupplements.com went way up, MyProtein is the best price.
If bulksups was even equal for price, i'd order from them just because it's no fiddly BS.

Still thankfull MP has a good price though.

Yeah I never pay attention to the percentages, they’re basically meaningless. I just add it to my cart to check the price. IIRC the best price I ever got was $6.70/lb for an 11lb bag, but that was a couple years ago. More recently it’s been more like $7.20/lb.

EDIT: These numbers are for Whey Isolate, typically Chocolate Smooth flavor because it's usually the cheapest.

$5.18 lb was my last price from them, for the whey concentrate.
That's with tax and their paypal surcharge included.
228 divided by 44 (four eleven pound bags)

I haven't done the math in a while, but iirc, the 80%/whey concentrate is actually slightly less per gram of protein than the 90% isolate.

Yeah the concentrate is cheaper. I always get Isolate just because there's less calories per serving and my fat ass is usually trying to cut, at least ostensibly.
