Help DR, who is ever fast like continental drift
You know, I don't even have to read the username to know when it's DR. It's just that odd blend of aggressive arrogance and self-effacing humor that gives it away.

Don't you have an IPF record (technically, shut up) or something like that? What's the story there? Oh wait, that's off topic... DR, do you think training for hypertrophy helped you get that IPF record (technically, shut up)?
It's "IPF (technically, shut up) record." It's actually a record, the IPF part is a technicality/load of bullshit.

And you have read my training log, you know that record (KY State 105 RAW squat record, possibly already broken) was set entirely through TMing harder than anyone had TM'ed before.

I think the recruitment patterns of high-threshold motor units in “hypertrophy work” will fuck (negative transfer) high-threshold MU recruitment in ballistic motor programs.

It’s really, really, really hard to refine ballistic motor programs. Easy to corrupt them.

So fucking easy...[gazes sadly into an imagined life of athletic accomplishment]
I noticed no such problem in golf, the most ballistic of "sports."

It's always a buncha slow-ass, non-jumping white-ass bitches talking about this shit.

Of course, you're not going to notice if your cracker-ass Kentuckian or Norwegian 22" SVJ is compromised by 10% because of a hypertrophy block. Dunk some shit, then run a hypertrophy block, then try dunking some shit again.

Bitches.

I don't have a reference point, so for all we know my SVJ might be going through the roof right now.

Vid.

Preferably in your mother's house.

Or -- with some epic fjord backdrop. (I'm not sure what Norway is actually like, but I imagine fjords and epic shit everywhere).

Does a gym filled with bros who have a mixture of admiration (I assume) for my squat and scorn for a person who does "legs" all the time count as an epic backdrop?

Hanley, forget all these races to an arbitrary milestone in an arbitrary lift. Let's do a race to dunking a standard 16-lb shot.

So shall it be written, so shall it be done. Now I just need to acquire a shot and somewhere to dunk it where I won't break the floor.

Indoor training shots are things, right?

They are, but I'm not sure I want to spend 90 bucks on one. Though once I move I'm going to look at getting back into throwing, so maybe I 'll go ahead and get one anyway.

You guys are really speaking my language here...

ach, and the only client (myself) that I've coached is not close to such explosive athletes.
Yep, speaking my language alright.

Sigh.

You can't have my Hanley -- he's doing the 2018 Old Guys Power Clean Experiment with me.

Yeah. It's a lot easier without having a heavy deadlift 5 min earlier.
