Nike Davinhos for pulling?

Bands, chains, wraps, straps, racks... are you sure this is training related?

Nike Davinhos for pulling?

Does anyone deadlift in Nike Davinho shoes? Any impressions to share, if so?

I was thinking about a pair of Sabos, but I noticed that a couple of well-known lifting/coaching/doctoring guys wear the Davinhos and that they (the shoes) are pretty inexpensive. And who knows, there may even be stores where you can try on Nikes in person!

I feel this advice applies to any show you'll be deadlifting in. Rebook power shoe, Chuck's, Vans, wrestling shoe, throwing shoe - Rip the insole out

I have Instagram confirmation that Jordan does this, btw.

I deadlift in New Balance shoes that I bought a long time ago, but never really wore. They weigh almost nothing, they're very thin and flat and it's almost like not wearing any shoes at all. I'd imagine the Davinhos are similar, if not slightly more substantial. But these New Balance shoes are great and I think you can still buy them.

Can't say I've tried them, but most indoor soccer shoes seem to run quite narrow in general, and very narrow in the heel. Not great for balance.

Wrestling shoes (aka sabo deadlift shoes) aren't very wide either. I personally don't think it matters too much for deadlifts, especially conventional. I was just talking about this with some buddies, but I pull as much in flip flops as I do proper deadlifting footwear. Chris Duffin has been known to pull 7-800 in flippers too. Jussayin.

Are flippers ipf approved?

No, but deadlift slippers are, which is basically a sock. It's not adding any support, so you are deadlifting on the width of your foot rather than the wide base of some shoes.

Wait, I think we've got a language issue here.

I guess they want to be able to get it tighter. It would be nice to have a rubber sole instead of fabric at times (like when I need to use the bathroom at the gym)

I have, not impressed.

5mm outsole is ridiculous for slippers, that's the same thickness as actually supportive shoes like wrestling shoes or the sabo deadlift shoes. Most slippers are about 2mm thick.

These things are just $7 water shoes from Walmart with a logo slapped on them.

They do kinda look comfy to just wear around the house. Haha.

Brought a pair of utterly hideous shoes. They're actually pretty damn solid. Have a heel cup and what feels like a plastic plate. Good arch support. I almost thing with nothing more than a metatarsal strap it'd make a very nice lifting shoe. I'll use them a bit and report back. They're Adidas 15.3's (whatever that means, I think 2015 model).

So they're pretty good. Probably better than my cut down powerlifts. I thoroughly recommend them as a general purpose flat soled lifting shoe. They are quite solid and stable and offer a good amount of support. I haven't decided yet whether I want to take out the glued in insole.

I've considered moving to Perth just so I can train there.

Damn you @OCG I don't need to fuck about with changing back to flats and I don't need to water money on more shoes, but it's fucking tempting
