That's pretty surprising considering how fast powerlifting is growing. Oversaturation maybe? Are there other meets going on in the area around the same time?

Another gym runs 4 APF meets a year. I'm not really interested in those.
This year is the first year that USAPL full meets have happened multiple times, and the first year for a full meet period in many years.

The meet directors gym is in the southern mid state area, and Maine just isn't that populous.
he was planning on bringing everything up to Bangor, which would be great for me, since that's only about a 90 minute drive door to door.

I think it being Thanksgiving weekend may have something to do with it as well.
The meet in February was well attended, and any more lifters and it would have to have been a two day meet since he runs a single platform in that space.

I'm hoping this still happens though.
Little harder getting motivated for peak work today, but i managed, so far.
deadlifts later.

It's interesting how meets and geographical concentrations of competitors works.

We have quite a few USAPL meets here in Michigan, and they sell out pretty quick. We also see many lifters from Ohio at ours because apparently there aren't many meets down there.

Hells yes!

Looks like they even added a few lifters, 20 total.
So, there will be two small flights.

Meet was outstanding.
9/9 followed my script exactly until the last DL where i pulled 200kg.
I was so elated.
Honestly, the feeling of well being, joy, and just pure happiness i get from doing these things, is like nothing i have ever felt.

Squat-
167.7/369.3
177.7/391.3
182.5/402.3 - 11lb meet PR. Beat my previous M2B state record.

Bench-
100/220.5
105/321.5
107.5/237 - 17 lb meet PR

DL -
185/407.7 - State M2B record total at that point
197.5 /435.4 - 27lb meet PR New state M2B record
200/440.1 - I FUCKING PULLED 200 KILOS. So happy. Took a knee lightheaded, but did not pass out.

On DL, I just went with a wide grip to the right, and foot placement wide right as well. Bar rise problem solved.

Bench attempts felt heavy out of the rack, and it wasn't until my third, i realised my rack height was too low.
NP. This is why i went conservative

I am also glad i went conservative on squat, because my third pull took pretty much all i had.

I am so goddamned happy right now.

On pure wilks, i got another bronze in masters class (all groups)
There was a guy a weight class down who did well and got the silver. I was happy for him.

I PULLED 200 KILOS!

Meat review

Woke up at 2am meet day. Drove three hours.
Only waited at the venue maybe less than an hour before someone showed up.

I did exactly what i planned to do.
9 for 9
No reds

Squat
175kg/385.8lb
185kg/407.9lb ~ New state M2 93kg record
187.5kg/413.4lb ~ New state M2 93kg record and 2.5kg all time PR.

Bench
97.5kg/214.9lb~ dropped this 2.5 just to save energy
102.5kg/226.5lb ~ Planned second
105kg/231.5lb ~ Planned third. Down 2.5kg from last meet, but i expected that, and was prepared.

DL
185kg/407.9lb
197.5kg/435.4lb
202.5kg/446.4lb ~ 2.5kg meet and all time PR

Total
495kg/1,091.3lb ~ New M2 93kg state record. 5kg meet and all time PR.
I had at least 2.5kg more for DL, but i stuck to my plan, and thusly hit all my targets.

So happy to be done with meets until next spring.

Oh, another bronze medal for the wall.

Had a USPA meet on Saturday 08/24/19. Made a cut from 90kg to the 82kg class.

(Best Lifts)
Squat: 177.5kg

Bench: 125kg

Deadlift: 200kg

Total: 502.5kg

Wilks: 337.63

Placing: 4th.

Recap: Was a decent meet overall. Weight cut didn't seem to affect strength as much as it fatigued me the week leading up to the meet. I feel that battling personal issues that hampered my training affected me in a larger way that the cut did. My numbers were comparable at 82.5kg to when I last competed in the 90kg class. I was red lighted on my first bench opener due to the judges believing the bar went down on the way up. Can't make any complaints, what the judges see is what they see and I as a lifter have to continue on with the meet. Retook my opener as my 2nd attempt on bench, failed my third attempt. Squats were better with successfully making my first two attempts, and failing my third. Deadlifts were my best overall lift with going 3 for 3 on them, but chose to play in more conservative on my last pull of the day and picking a number I knew I could hit. Will continue to train and get better, will try to stay leaner and stay in the 82.5kg class going forward.

Nice job, Lex.
Way to roll with all the variables, including meet day calls.
